Where We Find Ourselves

I think it's interesting that we use satellite images of the past to orient ourselves to the present. Like interrupted water, they act as traces that suggest what happened before - representing not only an instant in time, but suggesting an image's attempt at prolonging what is momentary. By using a large format film camera to reimagine immaterial internet images, I anticipate their inevitable disappearance as they are updated to more accurately reflect our current world. Where We Find Ourselves contemplates our relationship to time, our changing interpretation of the modern landscape, and our evolving authorship of the visual and virtual world.
